MARACHEENI APPLAM

Maracheeni appalam, also known as Tapioca Papad, is a traditional South Indian snack made from tapioca pearls (maracheeni in Tamil). The seasoned tapioca paste is spread thinly on sheets or molds and sun-dried until completely dehydrated. Once dried, maracheeni appalam can be stored for an extended period. To prepare, it is typically deep-fried or roasted until it puffs up and becomes crispy. Maracheeni appalam is enjoyed as a crunchy accompaniment to South Indian meals, offering a unique texture and taste with its mild, earthy flavor and crispy consistency.
